Hexachlorocyclopentadiene is an intermediate in the manufacture of chlorinated cyclodiene pesticides (chlordane, aldrin, dieldrin, endrin, isodrin, pentac, endrin, endosulfan, alodan, beomadan and telodrin, and mirex). It is also used to make dyes, fungicides, and pharmaceuticals. Another major application of HEX is in the manufacture of flame retardants. | ||
